Snowshoe Vacation

This past week we got the overdue pleasure of taking Julia on her first vacation. With Tim's 2nd CFA exam behind us, we took a week off to visit the mountains and relax. It was Snowshoe at its finest - with temperatures in the 60s and 70s, it was perfect mountain weather. There's nothing quite like sitting on the porch of Stemwinder 9 in a rocking chair overlooking West Virginia mountains, with a faint train whistle in the distance. Relaxation, indeed!

Before dinner, Julia gets some time with Daddy

Ready for a walk! (Thanks Mrs. Benson for the hat!)

Eric loved to pick flowers and look for items on his scavenger hunt The butterflies were abundant!

BLAH!
We roasted smores on the grill - yum!!
We visited nearby Cass, where we watched the trains and loved to hear the whistles. Eric assures us, the next time we visit we will ride one!

Nana and Papa Boo treat us to lunch and ice cream while we watch the trains
Later the same day, Eric decides to try out the bike ramps - who needs a bike? Our family of 5 sure enjoys it up here!

Taking a break from a hike (with snow makers in the background!)
We went swimming and Eric LOVED the slides!

Even if she didn't go swimming, she sure is a cutie in her bathing suit!

Eric tests out the big green chair
Julia takes a break on the couch for some R&R

Now this is what I call relaxing...
We spent many an afternoon in this spot!
Taking a hike on the (windy) other side of the mountain
Looking down the mountain from the top of the chairlift! Eric said, "I had a great time at Snowshoe, but it's also nice to be home."

Wrapping Up the School Year

The end of the year brought a lot of fun events, starting with a visit from the Schoening clan. Eric played, played and played with Uncle Chris and Uncle Dave, while Julia got lots of TLC. We also got to get outside into the warmer weather, Eric got a new bike, Nana visited and Eric had his end-of-school trip to Graeter's! (yum!) We also went to the Memorial Tournament and had a picnic at Eric's school on his last day.

Julia gives Uncle Chris a thumbs up

How many men can be wrapped around a little girl's finger? Eric put together and played with an airplane from his uncles And they're off!
Which one is going gaga? Having fun with his uncles
Grandma gets some QT with Julia
Eric on his new big boy bike! Hopefully by the end of the summer he'll be without training wheels!
Nana comes for a visit and gets a rare good photo with both kids! :)

Eric's last day of soccer - it's hard to believe how good he has gotten over the year!
A class trip to Graeters was lots of fun!

On her 3 month birthday, Julia weighed 8 lbs 13 oz
Taking a snooze on Mommy's shoulder
Eric LOVED going to the tournament!
Watching some players tee off during the practice round
I love bath time! Look, I got a popsicle!
School's out for summer - see you next year!

Julia's 3 month photos

In May, Julia got her "3 Month Photos", although she was technically only 2.5 months. But as you can see, a LOT can change in 2.5 months!!

Thanks as always, to Tammy, who does a fantastic job!
